After 10 years of studying the art of hip hop Reason decided to deliver music to the people. Representing the City of Detroit, Reason is looking to be the reason for a positive change in the community. Whenever the media talks about Detroit, its always negative. Through music Reason is trying to change that image one step at a time. His music is honesty and has been known to be an inspiration to many people. Please open your ears to listen to the one of the great MCs that Michigan has to offer.
Album: G.R.G.T(GOOD RHYMES GOOD TIMES THE PRE-LUDE EP)
Detroit's own Marcus "CrackKillz" F will be releasing a pre-lude project this week for his well awaited Solo LP "Good Rhymes God Times" entitled "G.R.G.T: THE PRE-LUDE EP". Brought to you by the good folks at Freshman Clothing, An unmixed/unmastered rough draft of the actually album. "My goal was to create something that was reminiscent of an old tribe record, or a pete rock joint. A type of record you could throw your head phones and just vibe out to. The essence feel me". "I hope you guys appreciate the rawness of this project. PEACExPOWERxLOVE"
It is no secret that P8tience is one of hip-hop’s rising stars. Hailing from the Eastside of Detroit Michigan, P8tience is the bi-product of society and circumstance. With clever punch lines, catchy hooks, and confidence, P8tience has won over the hearts and minds of those who have lent him an ear. Currently promoting his debut Mix tape, “Industry Ready”, P8tience speaks about experiences, life, love, and pain in ways never delivered. He is on a promotional caravan throughout the metro Detroit area performing at most hip hop related events, bars, and even some non-traditional venues. Those that know him love him and those that are introduced to him are blown away by his talent and humility at life. P8tience continues to impress promoters, DJ’s, and bookies by his performance and ability to bring in exceptional attendance. P8tience has written, recorded, and collaborated with artist like No Speakerz, Drey Skonie, L'Renee, Gwenation, Ren Cen, Delaurian, J Berretta, Yung Good, & more. P8tience is the perfect candidate for any showcase, comedy show, fashion show, or event that needs entertainment.
I asked P8tience a few questions so people could get in the mind of the man.
In the next year, Michigan hip hop will be… ?
AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE INDUSTRY. WITH ARTIST LIKE BIG SEAN, MIKE POSNER, BLACK MILK AND ROYCE DA 5’9” THE TALENT, AND WORK ETHIC THAT DETROIT POSESSES IS UNDENIABLE. DETROIT HAS ALWAYS BEEN KNOW FOR ITS MUSICIANS AND VOCALIST, BUT ITS TIME FOR THE LYRICIST TO BE HEARD
What studios do you record at, who are your producers and collaborators ?
I RECORD AT FULL SIRCLE ENTERTAINMENT STUDIOS, RECIPE STUDIOS. THE BULK OF MY PROJECT WAS PRODUCED BY NO SPEAKERZ AS WELL AS THE BULK OF MY MUSIC. HOWEVER, THE MIXTAPE HAS BKS, EPIK, THX, 5TH DMG, AND THE SKYSCRAPERS
What do you want people to get from this project ?
I WANT PEOPLE TO TAKE AWAY HONEST UNBIAS FEELINGS ABOUT TOPICS CONCERNING MY CITY, RELIGION, WOMAN, CHILDREN, PARENTS, OUR AND OUR CULTURE IN HIP HOP. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, I WOULD LIKE PEOPLE TO JUST LISTEN AND ENJOY WHAT YOU HEAR.
Whats your opinion on using twitter to promote music ?
TWITTER IS A GREAT PLATFORM. I PERSONALLY DIDN’T GET THE SMALL BUZZ I HAVE UNTIL I USED TWITTER EFFECTIVLEY. IT’S THE BEST WAY TO GET MUSIC, OR THE WORD OUT ABOUT YOUR MUSIC IN THE MOST ECONOMICAL WAY. I KNOW THAT THE SYSTEM WORKS IT JUST HAS TO BE WORKED.
When did you start rapping ?
I STARTED RAPPING WHEN I WAS 16 INCARCERATED IN OCJ.
What’s the name of your single , why’d you choose it, and what does it mean ?
THE SINGLE OFF THE “INDUSTRY READY” MIXTAPE IS CALLED HANDS ON YOU. THE RECORD IS ABOUT WOMAN THAT MAY BE IN A SITUATION MENTALLY PHYSICALLY EMOTIONALLY, AND FINANCIALY UNHAPPY WITH THERE CURRENT PARTNER AND SO IM SAYING TO THEM LET ME PUT MY HANDS ON YOU AND YOUR PROBLEMS…..I DO WHAT YOUR MAN WONT DO…LOL
What separates you from the rest ?
BESIDES BEING THE FLYEST NIGGA….LOL….NAW, MY LYRICAL CONTENT IS OF RELEVANCE TO JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY IN SOME WAY AND IF NOT EVERYBODY, SOMEWHERE ON THE TAPE YOU FIND YOUR SELF. HOWEVER, MY WILLINGNESS AND OPENNESS TO BE TOTALLY VULNERABLE IN MY RECORDS., AND LASTLY OUTSIDE OF THE STUDIO, I’VE BEEN TOLD PEOPLE EXPECT ME TO BE SOME SUPER STAR HOLLYWOOD ACTING NIGGA AND ARE SURPRISED AT HOW HUMBLE AND CORDIAL I AM. MY ABILITY TO SEPARATE P8TIENCE AND BRIAN BARNES IS THE BIGGEST ADVANTAGE I HAVE.
What do you expect to gain from this project ?
I WANT TO GAIN NOTORIETY, AND OF COURSE I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHO I AM, HOWEVER MOST IMPORTANTLY I WANT PEOPLE TO LIKE THE MATERIAL I HAVE AND ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE OF WHAT I FEEL IT MEANS TO BE INDUSTRY READY.
